What is Thanksgiving Day?
Thanksgiving Day is a day where people in the United States and Canada give thanks to God and appreciate what they have. This celebration is more important than Christmas Day. They celebrate it the fourth thursday of November. This year is on 26th.

History of Thanksgiving



 

Thanksgiving Dinner

Families get together at home and have a special dinner with the love ones. The dinner consists in cooking a stuffed turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, celery salad and a pumpkin pie.

Pumpkin pie recipe

A large bowl

1 1/4 Cups of flour
3/4 Cup of oats
1/2 Cup of brown sugar
1/2 Cup of chopped pecans
2/3 Cup of butter
4 eggs
4 Cups of fresh cooked pumpkin
2 cans of condensed milk
2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of ginger
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt

Mix all the ingredients together.

Preheat the oven to 190º. Mix in the bowl the flour, the oats, the pecans and the brown sugar. Melt the butter. Then mix with the oat mixture. Press onto bottom into the bowl. Bake 15 minutes. While baking, beat the eggs, the pumpkin, the condensed milk, all the spices and the salt. Then pour the mixture over top the crumbly crust. Bake 30-35 minutes. You can top with whipped topping. Wait 1 hour and enjoy it.

HALLOWEEN Halloween is a festivity that English spoken countries celebrate on the night of the 31st October. Children like to wear spooky costumes such ghosts, vampires, witches, monsters, ... and they go "Trick or treating" to the houses of their neighbourhood. The children can get a lot of sweets!!
